Máquina de Atwood
This simple yet economical device provides students with an understanding of
linear and angular acceleration and may be used to determine the value of g, the
acceleration due to gravity. Consists of 2 low-friction pulleys attached to a
support rod which can be mounted to a ring stand. Precise measurement may be
made since the pulleys have a low moment of inertia. Requires pulley cord, mass
hangers and masses, which are readily available in most classrooms.
